The Elgin Canopy Tour and Wine Tasting combines real adventure with a quieter side of the Cape. Departing Cape Town, you travel into the Elgin Valley, where cool-climate vineyards meet rugged fynbos mountains. Here, the day shifts naturally from scenic landscapes to something more exhilarating.
Canopy Tour
The highlight is an award-winning 3-4 hour canopy tour set within the Cape Floral Kingdom, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This region is home to fynbos, a unique and endemic plant kingdom found nowhere else on Earth. On arrival, expert guides kit you out with all the equipment you need — harness, helmet, and full safety briefing included. After the safety briefing, a 4×4 vehicle transports you high into the mountains.
From there, you soar across 11 ziplines, some 300 metres in length, crossing deep gorges, waterfalls, and pristine fynbos terrain. As you step off each platform, feel the mountain air rush past as you glide above the gorges — the valley stretching wide below. Each zipline ends on a cliffside perch just long enough to savour the view and the quiet satisfaction of having done something exhilarating.
